Welcome to the take.io Developer Network
The take.io API allows anyone to build their own take.io-integrated applications for the web, the desktop or mobile devices. We do so by providing a range of API methods and data, which we hope will improve the way take.io customers access the Take.net assets.
Why are we doing this?
We want to delight our customers. We are always looking for new ways to improve our services and we want to provide freedom to our customers using them. We made these API methods available to the developer community to:
- Find new ways for our customers to use our services for making their own business.
- Encourage innovation, especially around services integration and extensions.
Get Started Now
After the registration in any of our products, you will obtain an API key pair (consumer key/secret). This API key pair is your application’s unique identifier when making API calls. (Note: Please be sure to whitelist email from both take.io and takenet.com.br before you sign up for an account so the verification email does not get caught in your spam filter.)
- Read our documentation to become familiar with our API interface.
- Talk to take.io engineers and your fellow developers on the Developer Forums.
The take.io Brand
Third Party Applications
- May use the take.io brand and logo, but not in ways that make customers think that we built, endorse, or sponsor them.
- Don’t require the take.io Certification process.
- Must adhere to our API Terms of Service.
Some Dos and Don’ts
All developers must follow the API Terms of Service. Here are some highlights:
Delight Customers
Do:
- Help them discover take.io service and find services they’ll love.
- Respect their privacy and personal information.
- Make it simple to have a great user experience.
Don’t:
- Overwhelm them with choices that are inappropriate or irrelevant.
- Ask for or store their take.io credentials, including login, password, and personal information.
- Complicate the experience, or create confusion or needless distractions. Non-user-initiated pop-ups are a Bad Idea.
Handle Content with Care
Do:
- For take.io Branded Applications ensure the highest possible quality of experience.
- Utilize the technology to help customers to discover and connect with content and services.
- Use best-efforts to ensure take.io honors its commitments to content owners by protecting metadata and streams.
Don’t:
- Adjust or alter the content you receive from take.io, including but not limited to messages, content, streams, artwork, or metadata.
- Confuse, overlap, obscure, or blend our metadata and art with information from other sources.
Respect the take.io Brand
Do:
- Clearly associate the take.io brand with the take.io services.
- Present the take.io brand correctly and consistently throughout the product.
- Use the correct language in describing the take.io service and provide adequate attribution.
Don’t:
- Confuse our customers about the differences between your brand and take.io’s brand, or other take.io partner brands.
- Alter the take.io brand in any way, or use non-approved creative assets.
- Misrepresent your service or the features it offers, or fail to attribute take.io.
Why all the rules?
- We want to ensure a great customer experience.
- We want things to work.
- We want to protect our customers’ privacy.
- We want to honor our obligation to content makers and partner brands.
- We want to ensure the take.io brand is used appropriately.
